The Guifeng Mountain is located in the northern suburb of Xinhui District, 2 kilometers from downtown Jiangmen City. The mountain is 442 meters high, and garnished with many special trees and singing birds. In fact, about 80% of mountain area is covered with green trees. Located on top of the Guifeng Mountain is the Yutai Temple (Jade Temple), constructed during the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). In this Temple during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) many famous monks resided in the temple and gave both the temple and the Guifeng Mountain a special reputation. During World Wide War II, the temple was damaged by the Japanese invasion, but in 1985 the temple was rebuilt. Now the temple has many rooms and attractive spots for tourists to behold. The temple is also known for its two towers. The first one is a Lama tower, and is the only Lama tower in the entire Guangdong Province. The second is a stone tower with a shining white reflection in the sunshine. At the foot of the mountain, there is a special zone called Yu Lake, which means a "jade lake" in Chinese. Many trees and flowers surround the lake, and a large variety of fish can be found in the water. Tourists can not only enjoy the lake scenes but also go fishing, as the Yu Lake fish are known for their delicious taste.
