Daxi culture, one of the earlier culture of Neolithic Age (the New Stone Age), originated over 5000 years ago. From the later period of matriarchal clan community to matrilineal community, the culture mainly grew on the ground of autochthonism, with less exotic influence.
Typical pottery articles feature geometric pattern rectangle of red color, square, lattice and crescent. Daxi Culture Relics site mainly spread at the confluence of Daxi River and the Yangtze River, 15 kilometers from Fengjie.
Three excavations show the world the significance of China's Neolithic Age study with over 1200 precious cultural relics found.
